Oh dear, it looks like we shall have to wait another few years for anything to happen on this site. The way things are going, it could be 2013/2014 before people can set foot on the Pier....safely.

It seems like Urban Splash are waiting for the economy to have completely recovered 100%, before they invest any money in the Pier. They should be investing now, to have things ready for when the market picks up within the next year or so.  Refurbishing the Pier will be a long term job, and the Pier needs to be ready for when buyers return to the market. 

Leave things too late, and the buyers might have bought,......elsewhere !
